There is something timeless about getting married on Lake Como. The mountains rising from the water, historic villas, elegant gardens and the unmistakable atmosphere of northern Italy create a setting that feels almost made for a destination wedding.
For this American couple, Lake Como became the backdrop for an intimate and unforgettable celebration in Italy. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they travelled from the United States to experience a wedding that brought together Italian beauty, genuine emotion and an elegant, personal atmosphere.
As their Lake Como wedding photographer, I documented the day through a combination of natural storytelling and editorial photography, allowing the real moments to unfold while also creating space for carefully directed portraits of the couple.

From the beginning of the day, the atmosphere felt relaxed and intimate. The preparations offered the first moments of anticipation, surrounded by the people who had travelled to Italy to celebrate with the couple.

The couple portraits were approached differently.
Lake Como naturally lends itself to an editorial aesthetic, so I guided the couple through a series of simple movements and poses inspired by fashion photography, while keeping the experience relaxed and natural.

Moving across the lake, surrounded by mountains, historic villas and the villages along the shoreline, gave us the opportunity to create a completely different series of photographs. The changing light, the movement of the boat and the incredible landscape created a naturally cinematic atmosphere, while the couple could simply enjoy being together and take in the beauty of Lake Como.

The cake cutting became another beautiful moment to photograph, surrounded by friends and family and followed by plenty of smiles and spontaneous reactions. As the evening continued, the formal atmosphere gave way to a real celebration, with music, dancing and everyone enjoying the final hours of the wedding together.
These are often the moments I love documenting most: the energy of the party, unexpected interactions, laughter and all those small in-between moments that cannot be planned.
